9 DAYS – CULTURAL TRIANGLE AND HILLS TOUR / SUMMER TOUR (heading to east beaches, Arugam Bay)


Airport pick up, transfer to a beach hotel in Negombo/ Waikkal area.

Dear Guests, if you arrive at morning after a nightlong flight, I suggest you an airport transfer and 1 day beach relax and acclimatization as a starting day. In Negombo you can watch traditional fishing boats and fishing market, or you may take a small boat ride on a peaceful mangrove river Muthurajawela. Pinnawala elephant orphanage. The herd goes to the river at 10.00 a.m (and 2.00 p.m). In this governmental conservation project, they keep the ill, old, abandoned baby elephants, ensure them good conditions in big area, healing, two times 2 hours bathing in river, etc. The elephant herd stays at the river until around 11.40 ) Before this, we can watch the baby feeding. Go up to north. First stop are the ruins of Yapahuawa ancient kingdom ruin. It was one of the ephemeral capitals of medieval Sri Lanka. The citadel was built around a huge granite rock, with interesting carvings and scenic staircase. In 1272, King Bhuvenakabahu transferred the capital from Polonnaruwa to Yapahuwa in the face of Dravidian invasions from South India, bringing the Sacred Tooth Relic with him. Visit Anuradhapura – the well-preserved ruins of an ancient Sri Lankan civilization and its former capital at Anuradhapura at the times of the first kingdom, now an Unesco World Heritage Site, and still the center of Theravada Buddhism. Huge stupas show the grandeur of this ancient city. Mihintale forest monastery pilgrimage site – near Anuradhapura in Sri Lanka. Trincomalee. You can visiti the Khoneshwaram hidu temple at English fort, the lovers leap rocks. Beach leisure at Trinco, Nilaveli beach. You can go to snorkelling to Pigeon Island where with a little luck you can spot small peaceful sharks [Night in Trinco2]



Morning we the visit of Polonnaruwa ancient city. The major attraction is an archeological park with the ruins of the ancient city of, a World Heritage Site. Its masterful stone carvings, palace complexes, and temples dating back to the 11th century testify to splendor and grandeur of the former kingdom. Daytime we can go to a village experience program, where we go to the lake area on bull cart, go through a nice lake with waterlilies and arrive to farmers mud houses, ladies show how traditional farmers make their plantations, foods, they make a coconut sambol and herbal tea for the guests. Afternoon we climb Sigiriya, and watch sunset from the top of this ancient rock fortress. The World Heritage-listed Sigiriya holds the ruins of an ancient empirem built by King Kasyapa in the 5th century CE, the citadel its palace contains all the attractions. [Night in Dambulla1]



Dambulla, where we can watch the golden buddha statute and the rock cave temple monastery. Dambulla is Unesco Heritage Site, fascinating underground world of cave temples with thousands of statutes. On the way to Kandy, we stop for Matale temple and stop for visiting an ayurvedic spice garden, where they introducing the healing plants and their natural oils and powders for non/chemical medical treatment and give a short back massage (for free) as a try for the famous Ayurveda massage. Afternoon we can watch some world famous products and ancient craftmanships. Example we can visit a wood carving factory in Kandy, where you can watch the processing of masks, furnitures. After a short sightseeing in Kandy we watch the Kandy dancers and fire eaters show (16.50), at 18.00 when it starts to dark and the drums starts to call the religious people to praying and lighting the candles we visiting Buddha’s sacred tooth relic temple [Night in Kandy



Morning we are heading to the hills. We visit Ramboda falls. We visit tea factory. If you want a scenic train ride through hill county and Horton plains, the train goes from Nanu Oya to Ella [Night in Ella1]



The relaxing hilltop village of Ella benefits from a more temperate climate than much of the rest of country thanks to its high elevation. The pleasant temperatures make the scenery surrounding lush and diverse, with cloud forests and tea plantations. Ella we visit the 9 arch viaduct.
