Visit Ridigama Monastery. The former name translates to “silver monastery” and the latter to “silver village”. The name refers to a silver ore found in the main cave, which helped to finance the construction of the giant stupa of Ruwanweliseya in Anuradhapura in the 2nd century BC. Out of gratitude, King Dutthagamani donated the caves to the Buddhist Sangha.
Visit Matale Hindu temple. Sri Muthumariamman kovil is located in Matale which is about 28 kms from Kandy on the road to Dambulla. Travellers can visit there and can get a understanding about its architectural and religious importance of the kovil. The presiding deity is Muthumariamman. There are also idols of Lord Ganesh, Lord Murugan and Lord Shiva inside the kovil.
We visit Nalanda Gedige ruins, which is an ancient stone temple, constructed in between 8th and 10th centuries with dravidian architecture.
